I heard this track last week, after reading a short review of the album on the Daily Express music pages. Melody Gardot is an incredible jazz singer in a similar vein to Norah Jones, where jazz meets mainstream, if thats possible.
Gardot’s story is filled with grief, she was knocked off her bicycle by a four wheel drive vehicle at the age of 19 sustaining horrific injuries, her physician recommended music as a means to help improve her brain injury.
She began singing and writing in her bed and recorded an EP while still unable to walk. The EP is called Some Lessons The Bedroom Sessions.
Her first full length album is Worrisome Heart and this is the title track, a beautiful, smouldering jazz ballad.
